چکیده
Abstract Aim Quadriceps and patella tendon ruptures are relatively uncommon injuries affecting approximately 1% 0.5% of the population respectively. The literature surrounding preferable surgical technique, graft implant used, outcomes obscure. We audited all quadricep repairs within trust to identify whether they have same outcomes, if any factors affect there is a graft/implant which has superior outcomes. Method conducted retrospective cohort study included 34 patients who had undergone or quadriceps rupture repair, over 5-year period. assessed were failure, long term complications used. Results Our data demonstrated that carried higher failure rates (14%) poorer (42%) than repairs. Within cohort, revision surgery was required due decreased range movement secondary loosening graft. A wide variety used in fixation, however no significance complications. It apparent weight significant factor injury, co-morbidities, medications lifestyle appeared impact on Conclusions findings our single centre inconclusive small sample size; however, it repair associated with regional would provide larger help determine objectives outlined this study.

Functional results after surgical repair of quadriceps tendon rupture.
We present the long-term results of surgical repair of a traumatic rupture of the quadriceps tendon in a group of 24 patients with a mean age of 58 years. There were 21 male and 3 female patients. Fifteen patients were seen for clinical control after a mean follow-up of 75 months and they all presented with some quadriceps muscle atrophy. Twelve patients had normal knee mobility, three had a fl...
متن کاملUltrasound Diagnosis of Bilateral Quadriceps Tendon Rupture After Statin Use
Simultaneous bilateral quadriceps tendon rupture is a rare injury. We report the case of bilateral quadriceps tendon rupture sustained with minimal force while refereeing a football game. The injury was suspected to be associated with statin use as the patient had no other identifiable risk factors. The diagnosis was confirmed using bedside ultrasound.

Quadriceps tendon rupture is an uncommon injury that usually occurs in middle-aged and elderly men with a history of chronic illnesses. We report the case of a 17-year-old healthy adolescent male baseball player who sustained this injury as a result of sudden deceleration in his left knee. He initially reported to the emergency department and then presented to our practice, where he was diagnos...
متن کاملSuture Anchor Repair of Quadriceps Tendon Rupture
Knee extensor mechanism rupture is an uncommon, but significant, injury. The inability to actively extend the knee precludes normal gait. Quadriceps tendon injuries usually result from a simple fall in middle-aged men.1 Although low-energy fall mechanism of injury is most common, spontaneous rupture tends to occur in a subset of medical conditions (Table).2,3 Patients with quadriceps tendon rup...
